Privacy Policy

ReNoteSearch is operated by Handele Technologies Inc., 7398 Yonge St, Suite 6D-805, Thornhill, ON L4J 8J2, Canada. This page explains what we store, why, and what you control.
The short version
Your notes are private by default. We do not sell your data, we do not run advertising trackers, and we never use your private notes to train AI models.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address, display name, and sign-in method. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email and name — not your password.
- Your content: the notes, hashtags, highlights, links, and images you create. We store these so we can show them back to you and to the people you choose to share with.
- Plan and usage counters: daily note counts and agent (API/MCP) request counts, used to apply your plan's limits and to protect the service from abuse.
- Billing records: we store a customer id, subscription id, transaction id, status, and plan from Paddle. We never see or store your card details — Paddle handles payment data as merchant of record.
- Product analytics on the pricing page: anonymous counters such as "pricing page viewed" or "checkout opened," tied to a random session id rather than your identity, so we can tell whether the page works.
- Acquisition measurement: we use browser local storage to remember the first public landing page and campaign labels for up to 30 days. We record landing, workspace entry, signup, and first observed note-save events with a random session id. These events contain no note content, email address, account id, private note URL, or search query. Local account markers prevent repeat conversion counts in the same browser; these markers stay in your browser until its site data is cleared. Clearing or blocking site storage limits this measurement without blocking the app.
- Traffic measurement: for each page you open we record the address you landed on, the website that referred you, your approximate country, and a random session identifier that is not linked to your account. Visitor counts use a fingerprint derived from your IP address and browser that is rotated every day — we do not store the IP address itself for this, we set no cookies for it, and it cannot follow you across other websites or from one day to the next.
- Technical logs: standard request logs, including IP address, needed for security, rate limiting, and debugging.
Third parties we rely on
- Paddle — payments, tax, and invoices (merchant of record).
- Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage.
- Cloudflare — hosting and delivery of the application.
- AI model providers — when you use an AI feature, the text you send for that request is transmitted to the model provider to produce the result. Only what that request needs is sent, and it is not used by us for training.
Sharing you control
- Share with people: only the people you name can open the note.
- Share unlisted: anyone with the link can open the note; it stays out of other people's search. Treat an unlisted link as public.
- Featured notes: a note is only listed in public search inside ReNoteSearch with your consent or at your request. Turning sharing off removes public access going forward.
How long we keep things
We keep your account and notes until you delete them or close your account. Deleting a note removes it from your workspace. Billing records are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires. Anonymous analytics counters and technical logs are kept for a limited period for security and product analysis.
Your rights
- Access and export: export your notes in standard Markdown at any time from the app.
- Correction: edit your profile and content directly.
- Deletion: delete individual notes, or ask us to delete your account and its content.
- Objection and complaints: contact us, and you may also contact your local privacy regulator. In Canada, that is the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
To exercise any of these, email support@renotesearch.com from your account address.
Children
ReNoteSearch is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
International transfers
Our providers may process data outside Canada, including in the United States and the European Union. We rely on their contractual safeguards for those transfers.
Changes
If we make a material change to this policy, we will update the date above and surface a notice in the app for signed-in users.
